This week I focused more of my time on my focus student Josh. As I watched him during Language Arts I could tell he was off task as usual. I watched him dig through his desk and look around the room every five minutes while the rest of the students were paying attention to what my CT was teaching. Because he wasn't paying attention when it was time for the students to work on the material on their own, Josh was completely lost. I decided to go over to his desk and help. Instead of giving him the answers, I guided him to the right path. After a little help he knew exactly what to do and he was able to get the assignment done. I also tried to help him a little more with his handwriting by encouraging him to take his time so my CT and I were able to read it. My CT shared with me one of his spelling tests and I can already see an improvement in his handwriting. I hope by working with Josh a little each time I come, I can help him improve his handwriting even more as well as keeping him focused in class.
