What types of strategies and/or activities have you observed and/or enacted through classroom practices that are inclusive of all students? Support your beliefs about learning communities that are supported by theory, observation, peer discussion, and teaching practice.Another strategy I have seen several times in my Kindergarten classroom that is inclusive to all students is carpet time. I have noticed that my CT has the students sit on the carpet for every lesson. In kindergarten, this is very important to do because the students can become very distracted if they are sitting in there seats instead of right in front of the teacher. If the students are sitting on the carpet, then they are more engaged and focus more on what my CT is saying or doing. This week, I tried to teach a lesson on the ELMO when the students were sitting at their desks. This was very hard to do because they were either not listing or they were focused on their friend sitting next to them. Also, by teaching lessons on the carpet, you can monitor behavior a little more since the students are sitting right in front of you.
