Talk about the how the assumptions you held about the community were challenged as a result of this experience. How is this information going to impact what and how you plan for instruction? Since I live close to the Brooker area, I had an idea of what I was going to see during this search. One thing that surprised me the most was the amount of churches in the area. This tells me that most people in the area might be religious. Another thing I learned about the area was there is a lot of Kid friendly places in this area. There was the park, the YMCA down the street, the library, and a few daycares. The data I collected during the search will help me in the classroom because it will help me get to know my students a little better since I know the area they are growing up in.
