My CT does not have many classroom rules compared to most teachers. She doesn't do a behavior chart or clips nor does she have behavior cards. She simply tells them if they do not behave in class then a note will be sent home in their agendas or she will e-mail their parents. This seems to work for her class, I hardly ever see her write bad things in the students agendas. With this method, my CT holds all of her students to high expectations. Overall the class is very well behaved. At the beginning of the semester I asked my CT what she expected me to do as an intern. She specifically told me that she wanted me to gradually take on responsibility to remind the students to do what is expected of them. Now that I am quickly coming to the end of the semester, I can tell that have done this on many occasions. For instance, we take the students to the restroom everyday at 10:30 so they can go to the bathroom. At this time my CT also uses the restroom in the office leaving me in charge of the students. Although they know the rules that they are not allowed to talk in line, one day thought because I was watching them that it was okay to talk. I quickly told the class that even though Mrs. Wright is not here right now that I still expected them to stay quiet in line. They quickly faced forward and stopped talking.
